Camino del Norte
The stunning coastal scenery of the Camino del Norte allows you the time and space to fully contemplate and embrace peace, quiet and solidarity. The 808km ancient path winds through the Basque Country, Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia regions of Spain and is considered an older route than the Camino de Santiago Frances. It follows the beautiful Bay of Biscay coastline, passing by secluded beaches, coves and delightful towns and villages before turning inland on its way to Santiago de Compostela.
This incredible walk offers more challenging hiking and breathtaking natural landscapes, with the opportunity to experience the unique culture, food, wine and architecture of each region. Consider the world-famous Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Michelin-starred restaurants in San Sebastián, the stunning Gothic architecture of Galicia’s Monastery of Santa María de Sobrado, and let’s not forget the wonderful camaraderie and friendliness of those you meet along the way.
If you’ve already walked the Camino de Santiago and are looking for a new challenge, or if you prefer a less crowded, more physically demanding and more contemplative walk for your first Camino, the Camino del Norte is an unforgettable experience you will treasure long after you’ve put away your boots.
